As of Counsel to Harshbarger Law Firm, Tal Goldin provides consultative services to the Firm in real estate, transactional, civil litigation, and complex family law matters. He has extensive experience litigating civil matters before administrative, state, and federal tribunals.

Tal's primary full-time practice is as a civil rights attorney for individuals with disabilities. As a civil rights litigator, he has obtained multiple six and seven figure recoveries for children with disabilities from government defendants as well as significant systemic change.

Tal currently serves as the Supervising Attorney for Core Services and Discrimination at Disability Rights Montana (DRM), the State's federally mandated Protection and Advocacy organization where he enforces federal and state laws protecting people with Disabilities. Tal previously served as Supervising Attorney for Education at DRM and continues to support the organization's work on disability discrimination and special education in K-12 public schools. Tal is the former Director of Advocacy at Montana Legal Services Association (MLSA), where he co-led a team of over 25 public interest lawyers addressing the civil legal needs of low-income Montanans. He spent the first portion of his career at a well-established private firm in Missoula focusing on family law, real estate, estate and business transactions and litigation.

Tal has taught Special Education Law, Policy, and Practice at the University of Montana, Phyllis J. Washington College of Education and Human Sciences, served as an adjunct professor at the University of Montana School of Law, and presented throughout Montana and nationally in his practice areas.

He is a member of the national Board of Directors for the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, the nation's largest non-profit advocating for the rights of students with disabilities in K-12 schools, the Order of Barristers, the American Association for Justice, and the Montana Trial Lawyers' Association.

Tal is admitted to practice law before Montana state and federal courts, Washington state courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Law, where served on the Jessup International Law Moot Court team twice, and the State University of New York at Purchase (cum laude). In a previous career he was a set designer for Broadway theatre, film, television, and live events.

Tal lives in Helena, Montana with his wife, two kids, a St. Bernard, and her contestant companion, a brown tabby cat. In his free time, Tal enjoys fishing Southwest Montana's rivers, hiking its trails, playing music, and camping with his family.
